Delivered a 636% growth, $1.5M in revenue from website leads, in the first year of AP’s website relaunch
I worked with The Associated Press in 2014, from the beginning I took on the global project to relaunch the company’s website, AP.org. The objective was to create a global marketing platform, a key source of lead generation and an essential means of driving incremental revenue through new business and upsell.
I took on the opportunity and led the creative, international marketing, Americas marketing, corporate communications and liaised with the technology teams internally. I influenced and managed part of the budget, and briefed London-based web design, development and SEO agencies on business requirements.
I created content schedules, influenced budget allocation, designed workflows for optimal lead generation, managed platform integrations to have accurate analytics and visibility into the user’s journey, trained content creators, presented insights and strategies to senior leadership, researched best practices for website development, analyzed competitors’ online presence, and modified code where we needed quick modifications for, given that we don’t have an in-house developer resource for this project.
I conducted interviews across the company to gather feedback on what they were looking for the website and to develop a structural alignment with the brand messaging.
